EPS to PNG converter

Open an EPS file without Illustrator and save it as PNG, transparent or white background. Runs in your browser, free, no upload.

Drop EPS files here or choose files.

    • Up to 50MB per file, 10 files at a time
    • The first run downloads the EPS engine (about 16MB). After that it starts right away
    • EPS files without embedded fonts are drawn with similar default fonts, and some non-Latin text may be missing

150 dpi is enough for screens and documents, 300 dpi for print. Use 600 dpi only for large enlargements. If the result would exceed 30 megapixels, the resolution is lowered automatically.

Transparent if the logo will sit on other artwork, white if it goes into a document or a chat message.

    What to do next

    How it works

Pick EPS files, choose a resolution and background, then click Convert. The PNG is cropped to the drawing area written in the file (the BoundingBox), with no extra margin.

Choose Transparent for a logo that will be used without a background, White for artwork going straight into a document. Several files can be converted at once and downloaded as a ZIP.

    Things to know

If the fonts are not embedded in the EPS, similar default fonts are used and the text can look different. The result card lists any substituted fonts.

The first run takes time to download the engine (about 16MB). EPS files that depend on linked external images cannot be rendered.

    Frequently asked questions

My EPS file will not open. Can I view it without special software?

Yes. Upload it here and it is converted to a PNG without Illustrator. The PNG opens on any phone or computer.

    Which resolution should I pick?

EPS is vector, so it can be drawn at any size. Use 150 dpi for websites and documents, 300 dpi for print. For example, a 2 inch wide logo at 300 dpi is about 600px wide.

The text looks different from the original.

If the fonts are not embedded in the EPS, similar default fonts are used instead, and the result card tells you which fonts were substituted. To get the exact look, convert the text to outlines in the original program (Illustrator, for example) and save again. Missing non-Latin text has the same cause.

    What program does the conversion?

Ghostscript (AGPL), the open source engine the print industry has used for decades, running unchanged inside your browser. The notice and source location are listed under Open source licenses in the site footer.

Do my files get uploaded to a server?

No. Rendering and converting the EPS all happen inside this browser and your files never leave your device. Results disappear when you close the page, so use the save button to download them.
