EPS to SVG converter

Convert an EPS logo to SVG in your browser by rendering it and retracing the outlines. Free, no upload.

Drop EPS files here or choose files.

    • Up to 50MB per file, 10 files at a time
    • The first run downloads the EPS engine (about 16MB). After that it starts right away
    • EPS files without embedded fonts are drawn with similar default fonts, and some non-Latin text may be missing
    • The original vectors are not copied over. The EPS is rendered to an image and then retraced, which suits simple artwork like logos and stamps

Black and white is cleanest for stamps, signatures and one-color logos. Use Color for multi-color logos (up to 8 colors).

    What to do next

    How it works

Pick EPS files, choose Color or Black and white and a background, then click Convert. The EPS is rendered at 300 dpi and the outlines (paths) are retraced along color boundaries.

Black and white suits stamps, signatures and one-color logos. Color suits multi-color logos. With a transparent background, the white backdrop is removed and only the artwork remains.

    Things to know

This does not transfer the line and text data of the original EPS. Thin lines, small text, gradients and photos can change shape or produce a very large number of paths. If you need the original exactly, convert with EPS to PDF and export SVG from a design program.

    Frequently asked questions

Are the EPS vectors copied straight into the SVG?

No. The engine running in the browser cannot export SVG directly, so the EPS is rendered at 300 dpi and the outlines are retraced along color boundaries. Simple artwork like logos and stamps comes out nearly identical, but thin lines, small text, gradients and photos will differ. If you need the original exactly, use EPS to PDF and export SVG from Illustrator or a similar program.

What is the difference between Black and white and Color?

Black and white splits the image into black and white by brightness, which is cleanest for stamps, signatures and one-color logos. Color groups the image into up to 8 of its most common colors. The more colors in the artwork, the more paths and the heavier the file.

    What program does the conversion?

Ghostscript (AGPL), the open source engine the print industry has used for decades, running unchanged inside your browser. The notice and source location are listed under Open source licenses in the site footer.

Do my files get uploaded to a server?

No. Rendering and converting the EPS all happen inside this browser and your files never leave your device. Results disappear when you close the page, so use the save button to download them.
