PNG to EPS converter

Wrap a PNG or JPG image in an EPS file for print shops and vendors that ask for EPS. Runs in your browser, free, no upload.

Drop PNG (JPG also works) files here or choose files.

    • Up to 30MB and 25 megapixels per file, 10 files at a time
    • The EPS wraps the image. It does not become a vector. Meant for submitting to print shops and vendors
    • Transparent areas are filled with white (EPS images have no transparency)

Sets the print size written inside the EPS. At 300 dpi a 3,000px image comes out 10 inches wide. The pixels do not change.

Lossless is cleanest for logos and stamps. If a photo makes the file too big, use JPEG (quality 92).

    What to do next

    How it works

Pick PNG (or JPG) files, choose a print resolution and compression, then click Convert. The EPS is written in PostScript Level 2 so that older print equipment can open it.

For logos and stamps with flat colors, Lossless keeps the original exactly. If a photo makes the file too big, JPEG compression shrinks it.

    Things to know

The EPS only wraps the image. It does not become a vector. When enlarged it is only as sharp as the original, so for a large banner prepare a big enough source image. Transparent areas are filled with white.

    Frequently asked questions

Does converting PNG to EPS make it a vector?

No. This conversion wraps the PNG image inside an EPS file as it is. It is for submitting to a print shop or banner vendor that says "send it as EPS", and it stays only as sharp as the original PNG when enlarged. If you need real vector lines, trace the outlines with PNG to SVG.

Which print resolution should I pick?

The pixels stay the same. Only the printed size changes. Print shops usually work at 300 dpi. If the image is too small to reach the size you need at 300 dpi, switching to 150 dpi doubles the size, at the cost of sharpness.

What happens to the transparent background?

EPS images have no transparency, so it is filled with white. On white paper that makes no difference. If the artwork will sit on a colored background, tell the vendor that it needs transparency handled separately.

Do my files get uploaded to a server?

No. Rendering and converting the EPS all happen inside this browser and your files never leave your device. Results disappear when you close the page, so use the save button to download them.
