    What to do next

    How it works

Upload photos, pick a strength and click Convert. The tool makes a slightly blurred copy, takes the difference from the original, and uses that difference to darken edges. That is the unsharp mask method.

Flat areas with very little brightness change, like skin and sky, are left alone so grain does not increase much.

    Things to know

This is not AI. It does not invent detail. It only makes edges that already exist look crisper.

Using Strong on a photo that is already sharp can produce bright halos along edges. Zoom in on the result to check.

    Frequently asked questions

Will a blurry photo become sharp again?

No. This is not AI restoration. It is an unsharp mask filter that increases contrast along edges. A slightly soft photo looks crisper, but it cannot rebuild detail in a photo that is badly out of focus or shaken.

    Which strength should I use?

Start with Normal. Light suits photos viewed on screen, Normal to Strong suits prints and photos that will be scaled down. Strong can make grain stand out in noisy photos.

    The file got bigger.

More edge detail compresses less well in JPG and PNG, so the file can grow. Run it through Compress image to shrink it again.

Do my files get uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs inside this browser and your files never leave your device. Results disappear when you close the page, so use the save button to download them.
