What to do next
How it works
The fee is the payment amount times the percentage rate, plus a fixed 30 cents. The base US card rate is 2.9%. The calculator adds 1.5% for international cards, 1% when currency conversion is needed and 0.5% for manually entered cards.
In receive mode the calculator works backward. It adds the fixed fee to your target, divides by one minus the rate, and rounds up to the next cent so you never come up short.
Things to keep in mind
Charging customers a surcharge to cover card fees is restricted in some states and by card network rules. Check the rules before you add a fee line at checkout.
Disputes cost $15 each, and instant payouts cost 1.5% of the payout. Neither is included here.

Stripe adds 1.5% for cards issued outside the US, and another 1% if the payment needs currency conversion. A $100 international charge with conversion costs 5.4% plus 30 cents, or $5.70.
