How it works
The monthly cost is the plan price plus card processing. With Shopify Payments, processing is your card rate times sales plus a fixed fee per order. With another provider, it is that provider's rate plus Shopify's own third-party fee of 2%, 1% or 0.6% depending on the plan.
The table compares the three plans at the same sales and order count, so you can see where a pricier plan starts to save money.
Things to keep in mind
Shopify does not list its card rates on the public pricing page, so the card rate is a field you can change. The defaults are the commonly published US online rates for each plan. Your admin shows the real number.
Apps and themes often cost more than the plan itself. Add them to your monthly budget separately.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Shopify cost a month?
On yearly billing, Basic is $19, Grow is $49 and Advanced is $299 a month. Paid monthly, they are $25, $65 and $399.
What is the Shopify third-party transaction fee?
If you take payments through a provider other than Shopify Payments, Shopify adds 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow and 0.6% on Advanced, on top of what the provider charges.
When is it worth moving from Basic to Grow?
Grow costs $30 more a month on yearly billing. If your card rate drops by 0.2 points, that pays off at $15,000 a month in card sales. The plan comparison table shows the totals at your sales level.
Where do I find my Shopify Payments rate?
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings and then Payments. Rates differ by plan and are higher for international and some premium cards.
