How it works

Add Word files (DOCX, DOC) and click Convert to get PDFs. Use it to turn a resume, report or contract into a PDF for submission. Several files are converted in turn and can be saved together as a ZIP.

Things to know

These files go through our conversion server because the formatting breaks when a browser does it alone. The original and the result are deleted right after the conversion. Fonts that are not installed on the server, such as Calibri or Malgun Gothic, are replaced with similar free fonts, so line breaks can shift slightly.

Password-protected documents and Hangul (HWP) files cannot be opened.

Frequently asked questions

Does it open Hangul (HWP) files?

No. HWP and HWPX files from Hancom Office cannot be opened here. Use Save as PDF in Hancom Office or Hancom Docs (web) instead.

The fonts look different from the original.

Fonts that are not installed on the server are replaced with similar free fonts. If the exact look matters, turn on File, Options, Save, Embed fonts in the file in Word, save, and upload that copy.

Lines wrap differently or the page count changed.

The document is rendered by a different program than Word, so small differences in font width can move line breaks. Check the result once if the document has many tables or shapes.

Are my files uploaded? Do they stay on the server?

Yes, these files go through our conversion server because the formatting breaks when a browser does it alone. The file is placed in encrypted temporary storage. The original is deleted the moment the conversion finishes and the result PDF the moment this page downloads it. If you close the window midway, anything left is deleted automatically within a day. File names and contents are not logged. If a document holds sensitive data such as Social Security numbers, redact it before uploading.

What software does the conversion?

LibreOffice, the open source office suite, runs on the server and does the conversion. Macros are not executed. Fonts that are not installed on the server, such as Calibri or Malgun Gothic, are replaced with similar free fonts.

How many files can I convert per day?

Because the server costs money to run, you can convert 5 files a day without an account and 50 a day when signed in (one file counts as one conversion). Failed conversions do not count.
