What to do next
How it works
Add PDFs and choose a task. For a text watermark, set the text, size, color, opacity and placement. For page numbers, set the position, format and start number. If you add several PDFs, the same settings are applied to all of them.
Use it to mark a document confidential, label a copy or draft, number the pages of a report before submitting it, or put a logo on every page. Everything runs inside your browser and the files are never uploaded.
Things to know
The watermark is drawn over the page content. Form fields and annotations are rendered on top of it, so the watermark can look hidden in those spots. The original forms, annotations and bookmarks are left intact.
Page numbers use the built-in Helvetica font, so only digits and symbols are possible. If the document already has page numbers, the new ones can overlap them, so pick a different position.
Rotated pages get the watermark in their displayed orientation. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked and saved first.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use non-Latin text, like Korean or Japanese?
Yes. Instead of embedding a font, the text is drawn as a sharp image and placed on the page. That means the watermark text cannot be selected or searched in the output PDF.
How do I add a logo watermark?
Add a PNG, JPG or WebP file together with the PDFs and set the task to Image watermark. The first image is used. A PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result.
I want to skip the cover and start numbering at 1 on page 2.
Type 2- in Pages to number and leave Start at as 1. Page 2 becomes number 1. If the cover should count, set Start at to 2.
Can the watermark be removed later?
It is drawn onto the page, so a normal viewer cannot remove it, but PDF editing software can. Do not rely on it as proof against tampering.
