What to do next
How it works
Upload a PDF and the Text tool is already selected. Click where the text should go. A box appears and shows what you type in the field at the top. Press Enter for several lines. Size, weight and color are set next to the field, and you drag the box to move it.
For a form with many blanks, keep clicking each spot. For dates and times, the Date and Time tools are faster.
Things to know
Text is stored as an image, so it cannot be selected or searched. To replace existing text, cover it with a white box using Cover and write on top, but the covered text stays inside the file.
Frequently asked questions
Can I choose the font?
No. Text is drawn with the fonts available in this browser. You can change the size, weight and color, but not the font.
Can I select or search the text I add later?
No. To keep the file small, text is added as a high-resolution image instead of an embedded font. It looks sharp on screen and in print, but it cannot be selected or searched.
Is there a quick way to add the date?
Pick the Date or Time tool and click the page. Today's date is inserted, and you can change the format in the field below.
Does my file get uploaded to a server?
No. Opening, editing and saving all happen inside this browser. The file is never sent over the network, and it is gone when you close the page, so click Download to keep it.
