Upload a photo and click Convert. The pieces appear here in order from the top left. Download them all as a ZIP.
What to do next
How it works
Upload one photo, pick a grid and click Convert. There are presets like 3x1 and 3x3, and Custom lets you choose up to 10 columns and 10 rows.
Each piece's file name includes its position (photo_r1c2 means row 1, column 2). Results are listed left to right, top to bottom.
Things to know
Pixels that do not divide evenly are added one at a time to the first pieces, so piece sizes can differ slightly.
For an Instagram grid, set the original ratio first so each piece comes out square.
Frequently asked questions
In what order do I post the pieces to Instagram?
The r1c1 at the end of a file name means row 1, column 1 (top left). Instagram shows the newest post at the top left of your profile grid, so post the bottom-right piece first and work backwards to rebuild the picture.
The pieces differ by 1px.
When the photo's width or height does not divide evenly by the grid, the leftover pixels are spread one at a time across the first pieces. The original is split completely, with no gaps or overlap.
The pieces look cropped on Instagram.
If the pieces are not square, Instagram's grid may show only the center. Use a 3:1 photo for a 3x1 split and a 1:1 photo for 3x3 so each piece is square. Crop image can set the ratio first.
Do my files get uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs inside this browser and your files never leave your device. Results disappear when you close the page, so use the save button to download them.
