    What to do next

    How it works

Upload a photo and click where you want the text. Edit the content in the input panel, where you can write several lines. Long sentences wider than the photo wrap automatically.

You can set the size, color, bold, alignment, outline (color and thickness) and a translucent background box. Drag to move, drag a corner to resize, and duplicate or delete items. With the keyboard, arrow keys nudge by 1px and Delete removes the item.

    Things to know

Fonts come from your device, so the look can vary from one device to another. Check the preview before saving. Once saved, the text is part of the image and cannot be edited, so keep the original.

PNG photos keep their transparent areas. Saving as JPG fills them with white.

    Frequently asked questions

    How do I add text?

Upload a photo and click where the text should go. A box with placeholder text appears. Edit the content in the panel on the left (below on mobile) and set the size, color, outline and background box. Drag the text to move it, and drag the handle at the bottom right to resize.

    Which fonts can I use?

Three styles: sans serif, serif and handwriting. No fonts are downloaded. The tool uses fonts already on your device, so the look can differ slightly between computers and phones. What you see in the preview is what gets saved.

    Does the quality drop?

The photo is saved at its original resolution. A JPG is re-encoded, but at high quality (92), so the difference is hard to see. Choose PNG for a lossless save.

Does my photo get uploaded to a server?

No. The photo and any logos are composited inside this browser and never sent over the network. Metadata such as the shooting location is not written to the result either.
