Programs are kept for years, and a misspelled grandchild or a wrong year is the first thing the family sees. Have a second person read the cover, the order of service and the survived-by lines before printing. The funeral home will often print from your PDF or DOCX, so send the file rather than retyping.

Obituary
Jordan Michael Lee, 78, of Austin, Texas, passed away on October 2, 2026, with family at his side. Jordan was born on March 4, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio, to Mary and Robert Lee. He graduated from Ohio State University in 1970 with a degree in civil engineering and spent 38 years with the Texas Department of Transportation, where he helped design bridges across central Texas.
ย
Jordan married Taylor Kim in 1972, and the two built a home full of music, long dinners and an open door. He coached Little League for a decade, kept a vegetable garden that fed half the street, and never missed a Longhorns game. Those who knew him remember his patience, his terrible puns and the way he made every visitor feel like the guest of honor.

Acknowledgment
The family wishes to thank everyone for the kindness shown during this time: the calls, the visits, the meals, the flowers and the prayers. Your presence today means more than words can say. Please keep us in your thoughts in the weeks ahead.
Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family invites you to a reception at the chapel hall after the interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Austin Parks Foundation.
How to use it
Choose the cover heading, type the full name and the dates, then the service date, time, place and officiant. The cover prints those centered with a box for the photo. The order of service starts with a common ten-line sequence (prelude, welcome, prayer, hymn, reading, eulogy, remarks, song, closing prayer, recessional) with a Led by column; change, reorder or delete lines to fit the service, including removing the prayers for a secular gathering.
Paste or write the obituary, list the family and pallbearers under their labels, keep or edit the thank-you note, and add the interment, reception and donation lines at the end. Download the DOCX to add the photo and print, or send the file to the funeral home or a print shop.
Things to watch
Keep the obituary on the program shorter than the newspaper version; two or three paragraphs read well on a page people hold during the service. Ask each person named in the Led by column before printing. Print about 20 percent more copies than the expected attendance; families keep extras for people who could not come.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a funeral and a memorial program?
Nothing in the layout. A funeral service has the casket present and usually ends with the interment line; a memorial or celebration of life is held without it, often weeks later. Pick Celebrating the Life of as the heading and drop the interment line for a memorial.
Can I add a photo?
The preview leaves a labeled box where the photo goes. Download the DOCX and insert the picture in Word, or print the program and paste a photo into the box before copying it.
Can I print it as a folded booklet?
This template prints as flat Letter pages, cover first. For a folded booklet, download the DOCX, set the page to Book fold in Word's page setup and print double sided.
Is what I type saved anywhere?
No. Everything stays in your browser and nothing is sent to our server. If you refresh the page it is gone, so print, save a PDF or download the DOCX when you are done.
