Fill in what you need. The preview updates as you type.

One sentence: who you are, what job, how many hours.

One line per school: dates | school | degree or grade level | notes. Write (expected) after a graduation date in the future.

One per line: dates | organization | role | what you did. Paid jobs, volunteering and babysitting all count.

One per line: dates | activity | role | notes. Clubs, sports, music, church groups, student government.

One line becomes one bullet.

Days, hours and the earliest start date.

No photo, age or Social Security number

US employers do not expect a photo, date of birth, gender or SSN on a resume and many will not consider one that has them. Under 18? Your state may need a work permit; the employer handles that after an offer, not on the resume.

How to use it

Education goes first because it is your main experience so far: school, expected graduation, GPA if it is 3.0 or higher, honors. Then any work, including babysitting, lawn care, a summer job or regular volunteering, one line each with what you did and a number if you have one (customers a shift, hours a week, money raised).

Activities and leadership are where a student resume shows responsibility: treasurer, team captain, section leader. Skills are short lines: software, languages, certifications such as CPR or food handler. Add Availability so the manager can see at a glance whether your hours fit the schedule.

Things to watch

One page, always. No photo, birth date, gender or Social Security number. Use an email address that is just your name. Ask a teacher, coach or former supervisor before you list them as a reference, and keep references on a separate page.

Frequently asked questions

I have never had a job. What do I put under experience?

Volunteer work, babysitting, helping at a family business, a school project you led. Leave the section short rather than padding it; activities and skills carry a first resume.

Should I include my GPA?

Yes if it is 3.0 or higher, in the Notes cell of the education line. Below that, leave it out and put honors or relevant classes instead.

What about references?

Not on the resume. Keep a separate list with two or three adults who are not family, with their title, phone and email, and bring it to the interview.

Is what I type saved anywhere?

No. Everything stays in your browser and nothing is sent to our server. If you refresh the page it is gone, so print, save a PDF or download the DOCX when you are done.
