This shows the first part of each sheet as it prints on Letter paper. The file also has a how-to sheet and formulas, and every column fits one page width when you print from Excel.

How to use it

Name the project, set the as-of date and download. Each task gets a row with an owner, a priority, start and due dates, a status from the dropdown and a % complete. The sheet counts the days left to each due date from the as-of cell and flags anything late or due within three days, so the weekly check-in starts from the flags instead of reading every row.

The Summary sheet is the one-glance view: how many tasks are in each status, how many are late or at risk, and the average % complete. Type =TODAY() in the as-of cell if you want the countdown to run itself.

Things to watch

Mark a task Done rather than deleting it, so the summary keeps the full count and the history. Blocked means someone outside the row has to act; put who and what in the notes. For the timeline view you show in a meeting, pair this with the Gantt chart template, and for the weekly write-up use the status report template.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the status or priority values?

Yes. Edit the dropdown lists on the Tasks sheet and rename the matching rows in column A of the Summary sheet so the names match exactly. The Done check inside the Days left formula uses the word Done, so keep that one or change it there too.

Why is Days left blank on some rows?

Either the task has no due date or its status is Done. Finished tasks do not count down, and they never show a flag.

Does it work in Google Sheets?

Yes. COUNTIF, COUNTA, SUM, IF and date subtraction work the same in Google Sheets. You may need to re-create the dropdowns.

Is what I type saved anywhere?

No. Everything stays in your browser and nothing is sent to our server. If you refresh the page it is gone, so print, save a PDF or download the DOCX when you are done.
