This shows the first part of each sheet as it prints on Letter paper. The file also has a how-to sheet and formulas, and every column fits one page width when you print from Excel.
How to use it
Pick the project start and how many weeks you want across, then download. Each task is a row: type the start date and the duration in days and the end date fills in. To the right there is one narrow column per week, headed by that week's Monday, and a blue bar appears across the weeks the task covers. Type the % done as you go.
The whole timeline hangs off one yellow cell, the project start. If the project slips a week, change that cell and the headers and bars move together. The sample rows show a small six-task project from kickoff to launch; replace them with yours.
Things to watch
This is a week-level chart, so a two-day task still shows as a one-week bar. Durations are calendar days. It has no dependencies between tasks: if design slips, you move the build start yourself. For day-by-day tracking of who is doing what, pair it with the project tracker template and keep the Gantt for the overview you show in a meeting.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the bar show a block character and a blue fill?
Both mark the same weeks. The blue fill is conditional formatting, which some viewers and converters drop. The block is a plain formula result, so the bar survives anywhere the file opens.
Can I show days instead of weeks?
Not in this file. Weeks keep the sheet to one printed page for projects of a few months. For a two-week sprint, use the project tracker, which has start and due dates per task.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. IF, AND, OR and date arithmetic work the same, and Google Sheets keeps the conditional format when you import the file. Dates in the header may need the m/d format reapplied.
Is what I type saved anywhere?
No. Everything stays in your browser and nothing is sent to our server. If you refresh the page it is gone, so print, save a PDF or download the DOCX when you are done.
