Test print before using certificate paper
The border is off by default for pre-printed certificate paper. Turn it on when you print on plain paper. Printers shift the margins a little, so print one copy on plain paper and hold it against the certificate stock before the real run.

How to use it
A certificate of appreciation lands better when it names the thing you are grateful for. Put that in the reason box as one line that follows the word "for", such as "hosting our spring fundraiser", then pick volunteer, sponsor, speaker or partner. Your organization name drops into the sentence from the signer block.
For a person, type their name. For a company, put the company in the group box and the contact person in the name box, or put the company name in the name box if nobody in particular should be named.
Things to watch
A certificate is not a donation receipt. If a donor needs a receipt for a tax deduction, a 501(c)(3) sends a written acknowledgment with the amount and the no-goods-or-services statement the IRS asks for. This page is the thank-you, not that letter.

How do I thank a whole company?
Type the company name in the recipient name box and leave the group box empty. The partner or sponsor wording works for organizations.
Can I print this on certificate paper with a printed border?
Yes. Keep the border off and the text sits inside the usual frame. Paper designs differ, so test on plain paper first. If something sits too close to the edge, download the DOCX and nudge the margins in Word.
Is what I type saved anywhere?
No. Everything stays in your browser. When you need certificates for several people, change the name and print or download each one.
