This shows the first part of each sheet as it prints on Letter paper. The file also has a how-to sheet and formulas, and every column fits one page width when you print from Excel.

How to use it

Download the file and list every service you pay for on a schedule: streaming, software, cloud storage, the gym, the news app. Pick the billing cycle and type what you pay per billing. The sheet works out what each one costs per month and per year and adds them up, so the number people usually guess at is on the page.

Type the next renewal date and the sheet counts the days until it. Sort by that column once a month and cancel what you no longer use before it bills again. Yearly renewals are the ones to watch; the Cancel by column is for services that need notice.

Things to watch

The dates must be real Excel dates for the countdown to work. Taxes are not added, so type the amount from your statement. Once the list is complete, the bill tracker is the place to record what you paid each month.

Frequently asked questions

How is the monthly cost worked out?

Cost times the times per year for that billing cycle, divided by 12. A $99.99 yearly plan is $8.33 per month; a $45 monthly plan is $540 per year. The times-per-year table on the right of the sheet is editable.

Can I add a billing cycle?

Yes. Add a row to the table on the right (for example Every 2 years, 0.5) and add the same word to the dropdown list under Data Validation. The formulas look the word up.

Does it work in Google Sheets?

Yes. VLOOKUP, SUM and TODAY work the same in Google Sheets. The dropdowns may need to be set up again.

Is what I type saved anywhere?

No. Everything stays in your browser and nothing is sent to our server. If you refresh the page it is gone, so print, save a PDF or download the DOCX when you are done.
