Make the reward easy to say
Buy 10, get 1 free is the format customers already know. Say what counts as a punch (one per visit, one per drink) in the terms so staff do not have to decide at the counter. Number the cards so a photocopied card stands out.

How to use it
Type your business, the reward in one line and how many punches it takes. Each card prints with the reward as the headline, a row of numbered boxes to punch or stamp, your terms in small print and a card number counting up from the first number. Three cards print per page with cut lines between them; print on card stock so they survive a wallet.
Keep a hole punch or a small ink stamp at the register. When a card is full, take it in, give the reward and hand out a new one.
Things to watch
Decide what counts as a punch before you print: one per visit stops a customer from filling a card with ten small items in one go. Count the full cards you take back each month; that number tells you whether the program pays for itself. For a card with a dollar value instead of punches, use the gift certificate template.

Frequently asked questions
How many punches should a card have?
Eight to ten is the common range: short enough to finish in a month of regular visits, long enough that the free item costs you less than a tenth of the sales. Six works for higher-priced services.
Can I stamp the boxes instead of punching?
Yes. The boxes are large enough for a small rubber stamp or a signature. A custom stamp is harder to fake than a hole punch.
Why keep a serial number?
A number on each card lets you record which ones you handed out and spot copies. Keep a simple list of numbers, dates and names next to the printed cards.
How do I print more than one page?
Print the first page, then raise the first number by the number of cards you printed and print again. The numbers continue where the last page left off.
Is what I type saved anywhere?
No. Everything stays in your browser and nothing is sent to our server. If you refresh the page it is gone, so print, save a PDF or download the DOCX when you are done.
