This shows the first part of each sheet as it prints on Letter paper. The file also has a how-to sheet and formulas, and every column fits one page width when you print from Excel.

How to use it

Pick how you set prices and how to round, then type each item's cost and rate. The sheet figures the price and the sale price after any discount. When a supplier raises a cost, change that one cell and every dependent price updates.

Margin is the share of the selling price that is profit. Markup is a percentage added on top of cost. A $10.00 cost at 30% comes out to $14.29 with margin and $13.00 with markup, so pick one method and use it for the whole list.

Things to watch

Prices are before sales tax, which you add at checkout based on the buyer's location. Keep this file as your internal master and send customers a copy without the Cost and rate columns.

Frequently asked questions

Margin or markup, which should I pick?

If you think in terms of how much of each sale is profit, use margin. If you have always priced by adding a percentage to cost, use markup. The same 30% gives a different price under each method, so do not mix them in one list.

Can I set a price by hand?

Yes. Type over the Price cell. The sale price recalculates from your number. To go back to the formula, copy the Price cell from the row above.

Does it work in Google Sheets?

Yes. ROUND and IF work the same in Google Sheets, and the percentage format carries over.

Is what I type saved anywhere?

No. Everything stays in your browser and nothing is sent to our server. If you refresh the page it is gone, so print, save a PDF or download the DOCX when you are done.
