This shows the first part of each sheet as it prints on Letter paper. The file also has a how-to sheet and formulas, and every column fits one page width when you print from Excel.
How to use it
One line per company: who you deal with there, how to reach them, what terms you agreed to and whether the account is active. The dropdowns keep type, terms and status consistent so you can sort and filter, and the Summary sheet counts how many active customers, vendors and partners you have.
Fill in payment terms when you set up the account. When an invoice goes out or a bill comes in, the terms column tells you the due date without digging through email. For tracking what each customer owes, pair this with the accounts receivable aging template.
Things to watch
The contact columns hold personal data about people at other companies. Store the file where access is limited and remove contact details when a relationship ends. Do not add Social Security or tax ID numbers here. If you collect a W-9 from a vendor, keep it with your tax records instead.

Frequently asked questions
Should I keep vendors in the same list?
You can. Set the type to Vendor or Both and filter by that column. If the lists get long, copy the sheet and keep customers and vendors apart.
Can I add a freelancer or an individual?
Yes. Put the person's name in the Company column. Keep tax ID numbers out of this file; the W-9 belongs with your accounting records.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. COUNTIFS works the same in Google Sheets. You may need to re-create the dropdowns.
Is what I type saved anywhere?
No. Everything stays in your browser and nothing is sent to our server. If you refresh the page it is gone, so print, save a PDF or download the DOCX when you are done.
