Completion rate=COUNTIF(Done,"Done")/COUNTA(Task)
Done / total=COUNTIF(...)&" / "&COUNTA(...)

This shows the first part of each sheet as it prints on Letter paper. The file also has a how-to sheet and formulas, and every column fits one page width when you print from Excel.

How to use it

Type a title and pick how many rows you want. The sheet has #, task, category, owner, due date, done and notes columns. The number fills in when you type a task, and picking Done moves the completion rate at the top.

For a personal to-do list leave the owner column empty. For an event or project with several people, fill in the owner and due date so everyone can see what is theirs. Sort by the Due column to see what is urgent.

Things to watch

The completion rate counts every row that has a task, including the gray example rows, so delete those before you start. Only the exact word Done counts as finished, so use the dropdown.

Frequently asked questions

Does the completion rate work in Google Sheets?

Yes. It uses COUNTIF and COUNTA only, which work the same in Google Sheets. The dropdown may need to be set up again there.

Can I type Done instead of using the dropdown?

Yes, as long as it is spelled Done. Any other word or an empty cell counts as not done.

What if I run out of rows?

Copy the last row and paste it below; the number formula and the dropdowns come with it. Then extend the end row in the two completion formulas at the top.

Is what I type saved anywhere?

No. Everything stays in your browser and nothing is sent to our server. If you refresh the page it is gone, so print, save a PDF or download the DOCX when you are done.
