This shows the first part of each sheet as it prints on Letter paper. The file also has a how-to sheet and formulas, and every column fits one page width when you print from Excel.

How to use it

Pick the year and the first month, and either keep the ten common bills or type your own with the due day and the usual amount. The sheet has one row per bill and a column per month. When you pay a bill, type the amount in that month's cell, or an x if you only want the mark.

Paid this year adds up the amounts in the row, Months paid counts the cells with anything in them, and the Total row at the bottom shows what went out each month. The subscriptions you pay by card fit here too, or keep them in the subscription tracker with their renewal dates.

Things to watch

Due day and Usual amount are reference columns; they do not feed the totals. Only numbers in the month cells are added, so an x counts as paid but adds nothing. Sort the bills by due day once and the sheet doubles as a payment calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Why type the amount instead of a check mark?

Variable bills (electricity, credit card) change every month, and typing the amount gives you a real total at the end of the year. For fixed bills type the amount once and copy it across, or type x if the amount does not matter to you.

Can I start in a month other than January?

Yes. Pick the first month and the 12 columns run from there, with the year in each header, so a tracker from July runs to June of the next year.

Does it work in Google Sheets?

Yes. SUM and COUNTA work the same in Google Sheets. Upload the file to Google Drive and open it there.

Is what I type saved anywhere?

No. Everything stays in your browser and nothing is sent to our server. If you refresh the page it is gone, so print, save a PDF or download the DOCX when you are done.
