Trim a video
Cut a video down to the part you need. By default nothing is re-encoded, so it finishes in seconds with the quality untouched.
1. Upload a video
Drop a video here or choose a file.
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI ยท 1 video, up to 500MB ยท A single cut can be up to 10 minutes in Fast mode and 3 minutes in Exact mode ยท The first time you use it, the browser downloads the video engine (about 31MB)
2. Clip to keep
Type minutes:seconds like 0:12.5, or just seconds (e.g. 75.5).
Kept length 0:00.0 (original 0:00.0)
3. Trim method
No re-encoding, so the start snaps to the nearest earlier keyframe and may begin a little before the chosen time.
Your video never leaves this device.

What to do next
How it works
Upload a video and it plays at the top of the page. Drag the start and end handles on the timeline below, or pause on the frame you want and click Start here or End here. You can also type a time such as 0:12.5 directly. Click Play selection to check what will be kept.
Click Trim and only the selected part is saved, in the same format as the original (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV or AVI). Nothing is re-encoded, so it finishes within seconds and the quality is unchanged. With Exact trim on, the video is re-encoded and saved as MP4.
Things to know
In Fast mode the start snaps to a keyframe, so the clip may begin a little before the time you chose. When it finishes, the tool measures the actual length and tells you the difference. Exact trim re-encodes on your device, which is slow, so it accepts cuts up to 3 minutes.
The video is processed on this device and never sent to a server. The first time, the browser downloads the video engine (about 31MB). After that it starts right away.
Frequently asked questions
The clip starts a little before the time I chose.
The default (Fast) cuts without re-encoding. Video can only start at a keyframe, a reference frame, so the clip may begin a little earlier than you chose, usually 1 to 2 seconds and sometimes more. The result screen tells you how far it moved. If the start has to be exact, turn on Exact trim. It re-encodes, which is slower, but cuts at the exact time.
Can I trim MKV and AVI files?
Yes. Browsers often cannot play MKV or AVI, so for those you enter the start and end times as numbers without a preview. The tool reads the duration from the file and shows it. The result is saved in the same format as the original.
Why is it slow? Does it work on a phone?
The video is processed on your device, not on a server, so the time depends on your hardware. It works on a phone, but a computer is much faster and more reliable. It can stop if the screen turns off or you switch apps, so keep the screen on while it works.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. The video is processed only in this browser and never sent over the network. The one-time download is the video engine itself, which has nothing to do with your files.
